Utility-Scale Wind Procurement
Public Act 99-0906 was signed into law on December 7, 2016 and became effective June 1, 2017. On December 4, 2017, the IPA submitted its Long-Term Renewable Resources Procurement Plan (“Long-Term Plan”) to the Illinois Commerce Commission (“ICC”) pursuant to the provisions of Sections 1-56(b) and 1-75(c) of the Illinois Power Agency Act and Section 16-111.5 of the Public Utilities Act. As approved by the ICC, the Long-Term Plan provides for a procurement of a minimum of 1 million RECs delivered annually from new utility-scale wind projects (projects over 2 MW) under fifteen-year contracts. Please refer to Section 5.8.2 of the Long Term Plan for additional information.
