Interested parties will have the opportunity to participate in the following upcoming procurement events.
As provided by the 2018 Procurement Plan approved by the Illinois Commerce Commission on December 20, 2017, events for the procurement of block energy and capacity will be held as follows: (i) a procurement of monthly on-peak and off-peak standard block forward products as well as combinations for the portfolios of Ameren Illinois Company (“AIC”), Commonwealth Edison Company (“ComEd”), and MidAmerican Energy Company (“MEC”) for the period October 1, 2018 to May 31, 2021; and (ii) a procurement of capacity for AIC for a period starting June 1, 2019.
As provided by the Long-Term Renewable Resources Procurement Plan approved by the ICC on April 3, 2018, Forward Procurements of renewable energy credits (“RECs”) will be held as follows: (i) a procurement of 2 million RECs delivered annually from new utility-scale wind projects (projects over 2 MW); (ii) a procurement of 2 million RECs delivered annually from new utility-scale solar projects (projects over 2 MW); and (iii) a procurement of 80,000 RECs delivered annually from new brownfield site photovoltaic projects.
The Illinois Power Agency (“IPA”) will hold a workshop on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 1pm to 5pm Central Time to discuss the upcoming Forward Procurements of RECs. Details of the workshop are provided in the IPA’s announcement posted to its website (https://www2.illinois.gov/sites/ipa/Pages/News.aspx).
