The Illinois Power Agency’s Final Revised Long-Term Renewable Resources Procurement Plan as approved by the Illinois Commerce Commission provides for a 2021 procurement of Renewable Energy Credits (“RECs”) from new utility-scale wind projects. The Utility-Scale Wind RFP will seek to procure 1,000,000 RECs delivered annually under 15-year fixed price contracts.
Bidders may begin submitting materials to qualify utility-scale wind projects on February 03, 2021 through an online proposal submission portal. Qualification materials will be due February 18, 2021. Bidders will provide additional materials for qualified projects by March 05, 2021. Bids in the Utility-Scale Wind RFP will be due on March 12, 2021.
A webcast will be held at 10:00 AM Central Prevailing Time on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 and is open to all prospective bidders. The objective of the webcast is to present the main terms of the final standard contract form and to provide an overview of the RFP Process and Rules including qualification requirements.
