C2S Procurement – ANNOUNCEMENT: REC Allocation Proportions

The Coal to Solar and Energy Storage Initiative Procurement (“C2S Procurement”) seeks to procure up to 625,000 renewable energy credits (“RECs”) annually, through two procurement events, from new utility-scale solar projects to be delivered to Ameren Illinois Company (“AIC”) and Commonwealth Edison Company (“ComEd”). Projects must be installed at or adjacent to the sites of electric generating facilities in Illinois that burn or burned coal as their primary fuel source and that meet all eligibility criteria specified in Section 1-75(c-5) of the IPA Act.

If a Project is selected through the C2S Procurement and approved by the Commission, the Procurement Administrator will allocate the quantity of RECs selected to each Company in the following proportions: 28.964% to AIC and 71.036% to ComEd. Thus, there will be two REC Contracts for each selected Project, one with each of the two Companies.
