On August 15, 2023, the Illinois Power Agency (“IPA” or “Agency”) released two procurement plans for public review and comment.
Draft 2024 Long-Term Renewable Resources Procurement Plan
The draft 2024 Long-Term Renewable Resources Procurement Plan (“draft 2024 Long-Term Plan”) details the goals and strategies for the IPA’s renewable energy programs and procurements, including program capacity and renewable energy credit pricing for the Illinois Shines and Illinois Solar for All Programs. The draft 2024 Long-Term Plan covers proposed renewable energy procurement and programmatic activities over the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 program years.
The IPA welcomes public comments on the draft 2024 Long-Term Plan. Written comments are due on Friday, September 29. The Agency will also hold a virtual public hearing for the draft 2024 Long-Term Plan on September 15. Draft 2024 Annual Electricity Procurement Plan
The draft 2024 Annual Electricity Procurement Plan (“draft Electricity Procurement Plan”) sets forth the IPA’s block energy and capacity procurement approach to meet the supply requirements of residential and small commercial customers taking electricity supply service from Ameren Illinois, Commonwealth Edison, and MidAmerican Energy Company.
The IPA also welcomes public comments on the draft Electricity Procurement Plan. Written comments are due on Thursday, September 14. The Agency will also hold a virtual public hearing for the draft Electricity Procurement Plan on Friday, September 8.
