Energy Storage RFP – ANNOUNCEMENT: Illinois Power Agency Requests Feedback on 2026 and 2027 Storage Procurements
The Illinois Power Agency seeks stakeholder feedback on potential strategies to enhance the utility-scale energy storage procurements called for by the Clean and Reliable Grid Affordability Act. Stakeholders are invited to provide feedback on the Summer 2026 Energy Storage Procurement and the upcoming 2027 Energy Storage Procurement.

Stakeholder feedback is particularly important as the procurement of utility-scale energy storage resources is new to Illinois. Feedback may help inform refinements to future procurement requirements and processes.
The Agency appreciates the extensive stakeholder engagement that took place in preparation for the initial energy storage procurement and looks forward to continued collaboration as additional procurements are developed.
